Key Insertion Sequence (Part 1): Within 5 seconds, perform the following actions rapidly:
A. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder, then immediately pull it out. Do not turn the key at any point during this step.
B. Repeat the insertion and removal of the key from the ignition cylinder once more. Again, do not turn the key. -
Door and Key Sequence: Within 40 seconds of completing step 2, proceed with these actions:
A. Close the driver’s side door, and then open it again.
B. Repeat the close and open action of the driver’s side door one more time.
C. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder, and this time, leave it in the ignition. Do not turn the key yet. -
Ignition and Door Sequence: Within 40 seconds of completing step 3, execute the following sequence:
A. Close the driver’s side door.
B. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position (where the dashboard lights illuminate, but you do not start the engine), and then immediately turn it back to the “OFF” position.
