Rick Ross Canada Incident: Rapper Hilariously Downplays Vancouver “Attack”

Rick Ross has finally spoken out about the incident in Canada that had everyone talking – and typical of Rozay, he’s doing it with humor and bravado. The Miami rapper addressed the rumors of an attack in Vancouver, taking to Instagram to set the record straight about what exactly went down during his performance in Canada.

In a video posted to his Instagram Story, a shirtless Rick Ross walked around his home, offering his perspective on the Vancouver situation. Instead of confirming he was punched, Ross claimed someone merely threw a drink at him. He painted a comical picture of confronting the alleged instigators, focusing on a smaller individual he likened to wrestler Bam Bam Bigelow. According to Ross, a verbal confrontation deflated the situation with the first person, while another individual yelled something about MMA. It was then, Ross insists, that a drink was thrown, not a punch landed. He joked that being hit with a drink was a far less disrespectful act than the MMA shout, further downplaying any physical altercation.

This response comes days after the incident at Vancouver’s Ignite Music Festival on Sunday, June 30th. Following his set, Ross played Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track, “Not Like Us.” As he exited the stage while the song played, video footage captured a confrontation with individuals identified as Drake fans. The situation escalated, and a brawl ensued. Videos circulating online appeared to show someone making contact with Ross, leading to his security team and entourage getting involved. The footage also showed members of Ross’s team being pushed and shoved, and at one point, an associate was seemingly knocked unconscious. The “Canadian goons,” as they were labeled in some reports, were seen mocking Ross and his crew for their song choice, highlighting the ongoing rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, in which Rick Ross has firmly taken sides.

The Vancouver incident adds another layer to the already intense rivalry and provides Rick Ross with more fuel for his narrative. While downplaying any physical harm, Ross’s humorous take on the events keeps him in the headlines and allows him to control the story, maintaining his image amidst the ongoing drama surrounding the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud that spilled into his Canadian performance.
