Family Discovery Day: A Special Event for All Ages
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 8, and join Family Discovery Day, a free event held at the Salt Palace Convention Center as part of RootsTech 2025. This family-friendly day offers live music and engaging family history activities suitable for all ages.
Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Kathy Andersen, will be featured speakers at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST). They will share personal messages centered on the blessings of temple and family history work. Elder Andersen plans to take attendees on a virtual journey back to his childhood dairy farm, offering a personal and inspiring experience. The session will also include a performance by The Piano Guys, adding a musical highlight to the day. Both the music and the Andersens’ address will be streamed live on ChurchofJesusChrist.org and available on-demand for later viewing.
Family Discovery Day activities, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., include games, art projects, and special children’s activities like balloon art and face painting. Attendees can also explore traditional activities from Korean, Native American, and Latin American cultures, and experience retro technology exhibits and DNA learning activities. Free RootsTech classes will also be available on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring renowned speakers such as T. C. Christensen, John and Kimberly Bytheway, and Scott and Angelle Anderson, covering topics relevant to Latter-day Saints and family history enthusiasts alike.
