Embrace Flexibility: On-Demand Roles at Target Murrieta

The On-Demand Guest Advocate position at our Murrieta location is designed for individuals seeking maximum flexibility in their work schedule. Unlike traditional fixed schedules, this role allows you to create a personalized work schedule that aligns with your commitments and availability. Whether you’re a student, a parent, or simply someone who values work-life balance, the on-demand option provides unparalleled control over your target hours each week.

As an On-Demand Team Member (TM), you won’t be assigned to a fixed weekly schedule. Instead, you’ll have access to our myTime mobile scheduling app, where you can view and select shifts posted by leaders or other team members. This empowers you to choose the shifts that best suit your needs, giving you the freedom to work as much or as little as you like, depending on shift availability and store needs at our Murrieta store.

Active engagement is key to success in this role. We encourage you to regularly check the myTime app and pick up shifts that fit your desired target hours. We also require responsiveness to our communication attempts, as we will reach out periodically throughout the year to confirm your continued interest in working shifts at Target Murrieta. Responding to these communications ensures your active employment status with Target. Failure to respond may result in administrative termination of employment.

Consistent engagement is important for our on-demand team members. To maintain active employment, you are required to pick up and work shifts at least once every 4 weeks, with a minimum of four hours per shift. We understand that personal circumstances may occasionally prevent you from meeting this requirement, and flexibility can be granted in such situations. However, it is essential to communicate with us and respond to our contact attempts to confirm your ongoing interest in working target hours at Target. Furthermore, you must work at least one shift within a 6-month period to remain active. Starting December 2024, this requirement will become even more frequent, requiring at least one shift within 5 months.

Your communication and willingness to work during peak business times are critical to your success and ours in this on-demand role at Target Murrieta.

Upon being offered an On-Demand TM position at our Murrieta store, you will participate in a comprehensive Target Welcome orientation. This will be followed by a short-term structured training schedule designed to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge for your new role as a Guest Advocate. After completing training, you’ll be fully empowered to utilize the myTime mobile scheduling app to select your preferred target hours and shifts.

You will be welcoming guests, exceeding their service expectations, and focusing on creating positive interactions and resolving any concerns. This role is about being an advocate for both in-store and digital services, knowledgeable about the various capabilities and features Target offers to enhance guest loyalty and satisfaction.

You will be empowered to make shopping quick and convenient for guests at various touchpoints, including checklanes, guest services, gift registry, and pick-up and drive-up services, all while upholding exceptional service quality.

  • Mobile App Proficiency: Understanding and demonstrating to guests how to use Wallet and other helpful features within the Target App.
  • Efficient Returns Processing: Handling returns efficiently, following register prompts and partnering with Leaders when necessary to resolve guest issues while adhering to Target’s policies and procedures.
  • De-escalation and Recovery: Partnering with Leaders to de-escalate negative situations and effectively recover guest shopping experiences while adhering to Target’s policies and procedures.
  • Order Fulfillment Excellence: Providing easy and accurate service for all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintaining Work Area Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers. Stocking supplies during store hours while remaining readily available to assist guests.
  • Ethical Conduct and Safety: Demonstrating a strong culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance in all actions.
  • Safe Work Practices: Working safely at all times to protect yourself and others; identifying and rectifying hazards; adhering to all safety policies and best practices.
  • Support for Guest Services: Supporting guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, including federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Cash Office Support: Supporting Cash Office processes as needed, including cash system management.
  • Other Duties: Performing all other duties as assigned based on evolving business needs within the Murrieta Target store.

Basic Expectations at Target:

  • Accurate cash handling and register operations, including cash transactions and cash office support as needed.
  • Efficient and safe handling of merchandise, including scanning, handling, and moving products, with the ability to frequently lift or move products up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexible work schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with reliable and prompt attendance. As an on-demand TM, we require active engagement by picking up and working shifts via the myTime mobile App every 4 weeks and responding to contact attempts. You must work at least one shift within 6 months (5 months starting December 2024) to maintain employment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions, including potential exposure to humidity and other elements when performing duties such as Drive-Up and carryout.
  • Ability to remain mobile and on your feet for the duration of scheduled shifts, which may vary in length.
