Keep Cool with a Vintage VW Beetle Air Conditioning System

Cruising in a classic VW Beetle is a dream, but let’s face it, those summer months can turn your Bug into an oven! If you’re looking to enjoy your vintage ride in comfort, even on the hottest days, then upgrading to a modern Vw Beetle Air Conditioning System is the perfect solution. Forget about arriving at your destination sweaty and uncomfortable; with our premium AC kits, you can experience “ice cold” air conditioning without compromising the classic charm of your Beetle.

Experience Unmatched Cooling and Quality

Our vw beetle air conditioning system kits are specifically designed for 1958-1967 vintage Beetles, offering the finest quality and performance available. We’re not exaggerating when we say “ice cold” – these systems are engineered to deliver exceptional cooling power, transforming your Beetle into a comfortable oasis, no matter the outside temperature. Unlike some generic kits that require extensive modifications, our design focuses on a seamless installation that respects the integrity of your classic car. You won’t need to “hack up” your beloved Beetle to enjoy modern air conditioning!

These kits aren’t just for show cars, though they certainly look fantastic in them! Many of our customers install these vw beetle air conditioning systems in their daily drivers, proving their reliability and practicality for everyday use. Whether you have a stock carburetor or dual carburetors, we have a kit designed to fit your specific setup. Our compressor mounting solutions are versatile, ensuring compatibility regardless of your engine configuration. This particular model features a sleek black textured under dash unit that integrates seamlessly into the Beetle’s interior.

One of the key advantages of our vw beetle air conditioning system is its thoughtful design. Unlike older, less efficient conversions, our kit preserves the functionality of your crankshaft pulley and utilizes a single fan belt. This means you retain complete freedom in your crank pulley choices, simplifying maintenance and customization. Furthermore, the evaporator unit is strategically mounted in a location that maximizes airflow. This is crucial, as the evaporator and fan assembly are the heart of the system, determining how effectively heat is removed from your car’s interior. Choosing the right mounting location, unlike some kits with “poor” airflow designs, is paramount for optimal cooling.

Straightforward Installation for DIY Enthusiasts

Worried about a complicated installation process? Don’t be! You don’t need a professional garage or specialized tools to install our vw beetle air conditioning system. Typical hand tools, a couple of hole saws, and an electric drill are all you’ll need to bring cool comfort to your Beetle. The installation is surprisingly straightforward, requiring only five drilled holes: four for the AC hoses and one for the evaporator drain hose.

Our kits utilize environmentally friendly R134A refrigerant and a modern rotary AC compressor. This compressor is designed for minimal vibration and power loss, drawing less than 1.5 horsepower even at full output. This efficiency is crucial for classic VW engines, ensuring that even a modest 40hp engine can power the vw beetle air conditioning system without significant strain. Now you can confidently drive your beloved Beetle in the summer heat without sacrificing performance or comfort.

Important Considerations Before Ordering:

To ensure perfect compatibility and avoid any selection errors, please specify the year and model of your VW Beetle, as well as the type of carburetor(s) you are using in the Special Instructions Field during checkout.

Note for Serpentine Belt Systems: If you intend to use a serpentine AC unit, your Beetle must already be equipped with a serpentine belt system. While we provide the compressor with a serpentine pulley and belt, the rest of the serpentine system must be pre-existing in your vehicle.

Dual Carburetor Note: When using dual Weber style carburetors, it’s necessary to replace the stock mechanical fuel pump with an electric model. For Kadron style carburetors, a change to pivot or twist linkage is also required.

Don’t let the heat keep you from enjoying your classic VW Beetle. Upgrade to our premium vw beetle air conditioning system and experience the perfect blend of vintage style and modern comfort!
