His journey began as a tape operator, quickly evolving into a celebrated colorist in Hollywood, where he honed his skills on films, major television shows, and commercials. His expertise led him to Amsterdam as Senior Colorist and Technical Director at Condor Post Production. Later, at Pandora International, Blake served as Director of Training, authoring the Pogle color corrector manual and influential books like “Film into Video: A Guide To Merging The Technologies 2nd Edition” and “Video Color Correction For Non-Linear Editors: A Step By Step Guide.” His deep knowledge extends to daVinci Resolve, having worked with the system since its inception and authored its operator manual while training colorists globally for daVinci Systems. Currently based in Germany, Blake is an instructor and Resolve specialist for Creative Tools/Videocation in Munich, conducting ICA colorist training classes and remaining active in the field. His impressive portfolio includes commercials for major brands like Heineken, Ford, and Mastercard, alongside significant projects such as the DI restoration of the official Olympic films for the IOC and color grading over 160 movies, including classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Poltergeist, and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
